Last year the ICC mandated that pathway markings systems be installed in new and existing high-rise buildings. The mandate applies to the following occupancy types: assembly, business, education, institutional, mercantile, hotels and motels. In the near future you will see rush of companies scrambling to install photoluminescent pathway markings. In 2005 the same problem was encountered in New York City when Local Law 26 was implemented. What resulted was businesses rushing to get the job down as quickly and cheaply as possible. It’s important to choose a knowledgeable supplier such as Exit Sign Warehouse so that you do not end up with product that is insuffecient and the job has to redone. This can save you thousands of dollars in the end. Other common concerns might be the ability to achieve sufficient light levels in order to charge the photoluminescent pathway markings and acquiring quality product that will stand the test of time. Once again for any questions or concerns please call a trained representative at Exit Sign Warehouse.
Time to replace those old exit signs
11/02/09
When is it time to replace your old exit signs? On a monthly basis all exit signs and emergency lighting should be tested. Testing involves push the red test button on most signs to make sure that the battery inside the exit signs or emergency lighting is still functioning properly. On select units there is a remote control that can be used to test the unit. If the unit does not light up when the red test button is pushed then it’s time to replace your exit signs. In certain cases the battery itself can just be replaced but with the prices of exit signs being at an all time low it might benefit the end user more to just go ahead an replace the entire sign. This will insure that you have a brand new battery as well as brand new led lights inside of the unit. If you have any questions on how to replace your old exit signs or emergency lighting do not hesitate to call a trained representative at Exit Sign Warehouse.
